3 Nashik hospital founders booked in ₹1.79-crore health scheme fraud
An FIR was registered against founders of three Nashik hospitals for allegedly submitting 361 bogus treatment claims worth nearly ₹1.79 crore under AB-PMJAY and MJPJAY.
The FIR names Trilok Patil and Rahul Patil of Shiv Multi-speciality and Criticare Hospital, Rahul Patil and Vitthal Patil of Grace Hospital, and Prashant Jadhav and Preetam Pachpute of Hrishikesh Hospital.
The fraud was detected after the chief minister ordered an inquiry into suspicious claims routed through the State Health Assurance Society.
A government-level decision led to the inspection of 15,407 claims submitted between July 2024 and February 2026, as several had the same mobile numbers and claimed over ₹5 lakh in a year.
During verification, officials found details in 361 claims could not be substantiated, including treatment in names of deceased people.
