Nolan Wells autopsy inconclusive, attorney says

An independent autopsy commissioned by Nolan Wells' family was inconclusive, attorney Ben Crump announced on July 22.

The autopsy report listed Nolan Wells' cause and manner of death as 'undetermined' pending further investigation.

Forensic pathologist Dr. Robert Mitchell wrote that 'non-accidental factors' could not be ruled out.

Wells' mother, Christine Wonsley, filed a petition to open her son's estate, enabling a potential lawsuit over his death.

Nolan Wells, from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, was found dead in the water near Horn Island on July 6 after going missing on July 4.
