McConnell's statement confirmed he was hospitalized after a fall, but had no broken bones, concussion, heart attack, stroke, tumors, or hemorrhages; he also had a mild case of pneumonia.

He moved from hospital care to a rehabilitation center to regain strength and cannot return to the Senate floor to vote yet.
