Thane civic body dispatches relief team to flood-hit Dahanu in Palghar

Thane Municipal Corporation dispatched a 215-member relief and sanitation team to Dahanu in Palghar district for post-flood cleanup and disease prevention.
The team includes 200 sanitation workers, ten sanitation inspectors, and five deputy chief sanitation inspectors, led by Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao.
Heavy rains over three days washed away a coastal highway near Narpad and damaged the Dahanu State Transport bus depot, with six buses rendered non-operational.
The relief team, equipped with ten jetting machines, will clean debris, remove mud, and disinfect to prevent waterborne diseases.
Bus services from Dahanu depot, suspended for two days, are being restored in a phased manner starting Saturday.
