Netanyahu to discuss Iran with Trump in Washington meeting

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday, with Iran expected to dominate discussions.

Axios reports Trump is considering resuming major combat operations in Iran, potentially including a joint military campaign with Israel similar to Operation Epic Fury launched on February 28.

Netanyahu confirmed Iran would feature prominently in his talks, stating he would discuss all pending issues including the situation in Iran.

The visit follows weeks of speculation, and Axios noted that high-level visits have been used as deception ahead of military strikes in previous tensions with Iran.

Netanyahu has met Trump six times in the Oval Office since Trump returned to office 18 months ago, but has become increasingly unpopular among Democrats and parts of Trump's inner circle.
