Haryana Police thwart farmers’ march to Delhi

Haryana Police prevented farmers from entering Delhi at the Shambhu border, leading to detentions in Ambala and Kurukshetra.
Farmers called off the march after Haryana agriculture minister Shyam Singh Rana assured talks and forwarded demands to Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher confirmed the march was suspended because the demands for release of detained farmers and a meeting with Chouhan were accepted.
Section 163 of BNSS was imposed in Ambala and Kurukshetra districts to maintain law and order during the protest.
