Chandigarh: Advocate who fired at landlady sent to judicial custody

Advocate JS Chaddha, 67, was sent to judicial custody by a local court on Sunday for firing at his landlady in Chandigarh's Sector 42.
Chaddha used a double-barrel pellet gun with a 0.12-bore pellet from his apartment balcony, injuring 57-year-old Manjinder Kaur.
The incident occurred as Kaur arrived with police and court officials to take possession of her Sector 42-C flat after a 13-year legal battle.
Police recovered the pellet gun and also seized a revolver registered in Chaddha's name from his house.
The case will be tried under the Arms Act and for attempted murder, despite the use of a pellet gun.
