Noida has UP's biggest backlog of court cases, Lucknow a distant second

in5points
Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) has the highest number of pending court cases in Uttar Pradesh at 918,575, far ahead of second-place Lucknow at 482,288.
Criminal cases overwhelmingly drive Noida's backlog, accounting for about 889,000 pending matters, while civil cases make up less than 30,000.
Uttar Pradesh's subordinate courts had nearly 11.9 million pending cases, the highest in India, as of mid-June.
Noida's high case count is partly attributed to commercial activities leading to many cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act, such as cheque bouncing.
