MHA Designates Mumbai Court As Maharashtras New Special NIA Court For All Terror & Scheduled Offence Cases

MHA designated Court Room No. 26 of the City Civil and Sessions Court in Mumbai as a new special NIA court for Maharashtra.
The court will exclusively hear all scheduled offences investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) across the state under the NIA Act, 2008.
The designation followed consultation with the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court and the Maharashtra government.
The notification, issued on July 11, 2026, supersedes a 2019 notification, while preserving actions taken under it.
The move aims to ensure faster and more efficient trials of NIA-investigated cases, including terrorism and other scheduled offences.
