Ram temple donation theft probe: Court grants 39-hour police custody of Tinnu Yadav, nephew

A special court in Ayodhya granted 39-hour police custody of Ram Shankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav and his nephew Manish Yadav in the Ram temple donation theft probe.

Tinnu Yadav was a close aide of former Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai and oversaw temple donation boxes; Manish handled counting offerings.

Police recovered ₹1 lakh from Tinnu's house and ₹2 lakh from Manish's house during raids last month.

Investigators will confront the two with statements from six co-accused, financial records, and electronic evidence to complete the conspiracy and money trail before filing chargesheet.

The case involves alleged theft of cash donations from the strong room of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya; eight persons have been arrested.
