Mitch McConnell health: Frustrated Kentucky Gov. shares ‘concerning’ update, ‘Not an email, not a letter, not a call’

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear expressed concern over Senator Mitch McConnell's health, saying he has received no communication during McConnell's hospitalization.

McConnell, 84, was admitted to the hospital on June 14 and has missed Senate votes for over a month.

Beshear urged McConnell to provide a public update, such as a video or call to a news station, to reassure constituents of his ability to serve.

Beshear noted that while individuals have health privacy rights, public officials relinquish some privacy when their extended absence affects official duties.

Beshear received two independent calls suggesting McConnell had died before his team issued a statement saying he was recovering from a fall and pneumonia.
