Jana Nayagan box office collection day 8: Vijay's political thriller drops 35%, crosses ₹153 crore in India

Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay, earned ₹3.98 crore on day 8, its poorest single-day performance, with a 35% drop from day 7.

The film crossed ₹153 crore in India despite mixed-to-negative reviews.

It opened strong on July 23 with ₹42.70 crore (41.6% occupancy), but saw a steep 50.46% drop on day 2.

The first Sunday (₹32 crore, 44.7% occupancy) was its best day, but weekday footfalls have since declined.

Jana Nayagan is Vijay's final film before he became Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
