First International Flight Lands At Navi Mumbai Airport From Abu Dhabi, Marking Historic Global Debut

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) received its first scheduled international flight, Air India Express flight IX-208 from Abu Dhabi, on Wednesday.
Service operates twice weekly (Wednesdays and Fridays) with fares starting at Rs 12,671, lower than Mumbai's existing international airport average.
Cargo operations began with NMIA's first international perishable export shipment, aiming to create a cold-chain logistics corridor for Indian agro-exporters to Gulf markets.
Flight frequency will increase to three weekly flights starting July 29, adding a Sunday service.
This milestone comes 201 days after NMIA began domestic operations, positioning it as a second international gateway for Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
