Farhan Akhtar opts out of 'Lalkaara'; Sidhant comes on board for Aamir's sports drama

Farhan Akhtar has exited 'Lalkaara' due to scheduling conflicts, prioritizing the R.D. Burman biopic with Akshay Kumar.

Sidhant Gupta replaces Farhan Akhtar and will portray a close friend of Aamir Khan's character.

Aamir Khan stars as Lala Amarnath in the period sports drama, reuniting with director Ashutosh Gowariker after 'Lagaan'.

'Lalkaara' is based on the 1952 India-Pakistan Test series and begins principal photography on October 1 in Mumbai.

Farhan Akhtar remains attached as a producer, and the casting change has not affected the production schedule.
