CWG 2026: Neeraj Chopra keeps gold medal hopes alive, qualifies for javelin throw final with attempt of 79.61m

Neeraj Chopra qualified for the javelin throw final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a best throw of 79.61m.

He achieved the throw in his second attempt and skipped his third to conserve energy for the final.

Rohit Yadav and Yash Vir Singh also qualified for the final, with throws of 78.37m and 78.36m respectively.

Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan qualified with a season-best 78.63m, setting up a showdown with Chopra.

Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage led qualifying with a 82.84m throw.
