Pune: Malshej Ghat Shut After Road Collapse; Dive Ghat Closed Amid Heavy Rain

A major portion of the Malshej Ghat road on National Highway-61 near Karanjale collapsed due to incessant rainfall, prompting an indefinite traffic suspension.

Movement of all vehicles between Alephata and Khubi Phata has been prohibited; the damaged section is barricaded.

Dive Ghat has also been closed to vehicular traffic due to unsafe conditions from heavy rain.

Commuters between Pune, Ahilyanagar, and Mumbai are advised to take alternate routes via Talegaon, Lonavala, and Khopoli.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts continued rainfall over ghat regions of Maharashtra.
