Illegal sale of unauthorised army-pattern combat clothes busted in Rajasthan's Sriganganagar

Indian Army and Rajasthan Police seized nearly 1,000 metres of unauthorised army-pattern combat cloth from shops in Sriganganagar town on July 30, 2026.

The seizure followed a June 2026 bust in Bareilly, which traced counterfeit combat cloth to a manufacturer in Sriganganagar.

Army intelligence identified a local firm in Sriganganagar as a key link in a supply network distributing counterfeit cloth to shops in Lalgarh Jattan, Suratgarh, and nearby markets.

The army secured a patent for a new combat uniform unveiled in 2022 to prevent unauthorised sale and misuse, addressing security risks from uniform proliferation.

Illegal possession or sale of military-pattern combat cloth is punishable, as it enables impersonation of armed forces personnel.
