Shubman Gill urges compassion for students amid protests: 'Our generation deserves every opportunity to learn, dream'

India Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill posted an Instagram story calling for compassion and opportunity for students amid protests linked to the NEET controversy.

Gill said he respects students who are peacefully raising their voices and that young people deserve every opportunity to learn and dream.

Protests are being spearheaded by the Cockroach Janta Party, with environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk on an indefinite fast, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The protests began on July 20, and demonstrators allege police used lathi charges and tear gas to disperse crowds during the Parliament monsoon session.
