Vaibhav Sooryavanshi faces leadership test in new phase

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, 15, has been appointed vice-captain of East Zone for the Duleep Trophy under Ishan Kishan.
East Zone selector Pravanjan Mullick said the responsibility is intended to accelerate Sooryavanshi's maturity.
Sooryavanshi previously captained India U19 in a Youth ODI series in South Africa, scoring 68 off 24 and 127 off 74, earning Player of the Series.
He also served as vice-captain for Bihar in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy at age 14.
The experiment tests whether leadership sharpens or disrupts his extraordinary batting growth.
