Himachal: Flash flood blocks Sangla-Chitkul road in Kinnaur for over 20 hours

Sangla–Chitkul road in Kinnaur district was blocked for over 20 hours by a flash flood and restored by Border Roads Organisation.

A local nallah overflowed on Saturday night, bringing muck and debris onto the road at Mastrang and into an ITBP camp, with no casualties.

Chamba-Bharmour National Highway (NH-154A) was blocked for 7 hours due to a landslide near Batti ki Hatti and Durgathi.

IMD issued a red alert for very heavy rainfall in Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, and Sirmaur districts on July 20 and 21.

Kangra administration ordered closure of all educational institutions for 2 days in view of the red alert.
