Haryana-based syndicate behind cheating racket: Bains
Punjab Police arrested 38 people, including 13 handlers and 25 candidates, in a cheating racket during the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences pharmacy officers' recruitment exam on July 19.
Punjab education minister Harjot Singh Bains alleged the syndicate operated from Haryana's Bhiwani, and Haryana Police failed to act.
The racket used modified Kechaoda (K33) phones and hidden communication equipment to send answers to candidates.
The case was a technology-driven cheating racket, not a paper leak, according to Inspector General of Police Nilambri Jagdale.
The Punjab school education department is exploring blockchain technology to make exams tamper-proof.
