Three medals in a day! Raja Muthupandi's silver joins India's Commonwealth Games weightlifting medal spree

India's Raja Muthupandi won silver in the men's 65kg weightlifting at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, lifting a combined 286kg.

Malaysia's Muhamad Aznil Bin Bidin earned gold with a Commonwealth Games record total of 299kg, while Papua New Guinea's Morea Baru took bronze with 282kg.

Muthupandi's silver is his first Commonwealth Games medal after finishing sixth in the 62kg event in 2018 and overcoming a 2019 elbow injury.

The medal marks India's third weightlifting podium on the day, following finishes by Rishikanta Singh and Mirabai Chanu, contributing to a total of four medals at the Games.
