Over to Ahmedabad! Neeraj Chopra, PT Usha receive CWG flag as countdown to 2030 Games begins
The 2026 Commonwealth Games closed in Glasgow on Sunday, with Scotland passing the flag and ceremonial baton to India for the 2030 Games.
Neeraj Chopra and Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president PT Usha received the Commonwealth Games flag and baton on behalf of India.
Ahmedabad will host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, which will be the centenary edition, marking the second time India hosts after New Delhi in 2010.
India finished fourth in the 2026 medal standings with 39 medals: 13 gold, 17 silver, and nine bronze.
The closing ceremony included a handover segment involving Glasgow's Lord Provost Jacqueline McLaren and Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, among others.
