Kuldeep Yadav signed by Yorkshire for the One-Day Cup and four county championship matches after being dropped from India's ODI series against England.
Yorkshire general manager Gavin Hamilton said spin will play an important role due to the dry summer and Kuldeep's left-arm wrist spin adds another dimension.
Kuldeep has 368 wickets for India across 18 Tests, 121 ODIs and 54 T20Is, and has won three ICC titles: two T20 World Cups and one Champions Trophy.
He will join Yorkshire for their one-day game against Glamorgan on Friday.
