Sublime Mirabai Chanu completes CWG golden treble in Glasgow

Mirabai Chanu won gold in women's 48kg weightlifting at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, her third consecutive CWG gold.

She set Games records in snatch (85kg), clean and jerk (105kg), and total lift (190kg).

Chanu's silver medalist Ruth Asuquo Nyong of Nigeria finished with 168kg total, 22kg behind her.

This was India's first gold medal of the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Chanu previously won CWG gold in Gold Coast 2018 and Birmingham 2022, and silver in Glasgow 2014.
