Saransh Jain gets maiden India call-up at age 33

Saransh Jain, a 33-year-old Madhya Pradesh all-rounder, earned his maiden India call-up for the two-Test series against Sri Lanka.

Jain is a right-arm off-spinner and left-handed batter, offering lower-order batting value alongside established spinners Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and Manav Suthar.

His father Subodh Jain, a former Madhya Pradesh cricketer, wrote him a note during cancer treatment asking him to focus on cricket, which Jain still preserves.

Jain played a key role in Madhya Pradesh's maiden Ranji Trophy title in 2021-22, scoring 57 in the final and taking 13 wickets across knockout matches.

He won the Lala Amarnath Award for best all-rounder in the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy season with 360 runs and 35 wickets, and was Player of the Series in the 2025 Duleep Trophy with 16 wickets.
