Another House panel defers edu reforms report adoption; move seen as part of govt's outreach to oppn for delimit bill support

A parliamentary committee examining the Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill to replace multiple higher education regulators with one umbrella body defers adoption of its report.

This follows a similar deferral by another panel on an anti-graft bill, seen as part of the government's outreach to opposition parties like DMK and NCP SP for support on delimitation.

Both bills have drawn widespread protest from non-NDA parties and may not be tabled in the current parliamentary session.

Congress's Jairam Ramesh criticized the government, citing the deferrals as a consequence of the Modi government's humiliation in Lok Sabha on April 17.
