Everything that's happened at PM Modi Inaugurates Bhogapuram Airport

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Visakhapatnam Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram in Andhra Pradesh.

The airport is designed to handle 6 million passengers annually in its first phase, with a master plan to expand capacity to 40 million passengers per year.

Modi announced central support for the upcoming Visakhapatnam Economic Region, aiming to make it one of Asia's most significant economic hubs.

Modi highlighted that the number of airports in India increased from 74 to 166 under the NDA government, with UDAN scheme enabling first-time air travel for millions.

Projects worth nearly ₹18,000 crore, including the airport, were launched as part of the 'Swarna Andhra Vision'.

PM Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka on August 1.

He will inaugurate the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport.

He will launch development projects worth Rs 17,900 crore in Andhra Pradesh.

In Mysuru, he will inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre.

The airport, built under the PPP model at a cost of over Rs 5,640 crore, is designed to handle six million passengers annually, featuring AI, biometric processing, and a 5 MW solar plant.

Modi also laid foundation stones for development projects worth over Rs 17,900 crore, including Andhra Pradesh's first semiconductor manufacturing facility.

The airport's design, inspired by Chuttilu cottages and Araku Valley, aims to boost tourism, trade, and regional connectivity.
