Leh Apex Body (LAB) welcomed climate activist Sonam Wangchuk ending his 26-day hunger strike at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.
LAB had urged Wangchuk to end his fast due to concerns over his deteriorating health, and his presence was needed for negotiations with the Centre.
Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh were present when Wangchuk ended his hunger strike.
Wangchuk is a member of LAB; he began the hunger strike after being part of a Ladakhi delegation that held talks with the MHA subcommittee on May 22, 2026.
LAB representatives traveled to Delhi but were made to wait several days before permission to meet Wangchuk was granted.
