The 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow concluded with the flag and baton handed over to India for the 2030 edition in Ahmedabad.

India's representatives at the handover were Neeraj Chopra, IOA president PT Usha, and Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.

The 2030 Games will mark the return of the CWG to India, 20 years after New Delhi hosted in 2010, making India the second nation after Australia to host on more than one occasion.

The closing ceremony at the OVO Hydro featured performances by Manushi Chhillar, Shankar Mahadevan, and a cross-cultural jugalbandi between sitarist Rishab Rikhiram Sharma and Scottish musician Ross Ainslie.

India finished fourth in the final medals table with 39 medals (13 gold, 17 silver, 9 bronze), falling short of their 50-medal benchmark but extending their top-five streak.

Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar and singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan headline the Indian showcase.

The segment includes a tribute to Vande Mataram for its 150th anniversary, an Indo-Scottish collaboration, and a Gujarat-focused finale.

Performers also include Bhoomi Trivedi, Siddharth Mahadevan, Shivam Mahadevan, Rishab Rikhiram Sharma, and Ross Ainslie.

Rishab Rikhiram Sharma will perform a neo-classical sitar set at the 2026 Commonwealth Games closing ceremony on August 2 at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.

Sharma's performance will feature two compositions, 'Chanakya' and 'Tandavam', which channel courage and valour.

His performance will include choreography for the first time, developed in collaboration with Shiamak Davar.

Sharma will collaborate with Scottish musician Ross Ainslie, combining sitar and Scottish pipes in an India–Scotland collaboration.
