Why in news
The government appointed 1989-batch IAS officer Anurag Jain as CEO of NITI Aayog for two years. He replaces BVR Subramanyan, whose term ended in February. The appointment comes after a gap and follows the reconstitution of the think tank.
Background
NITI Aayog, India's premier think tank, had been without a full-time CEO since BVR Subramanyan's term ended in February 2026. The body has recently been reconstituted with a new vice-chairperson and new members, except Rajiv Gauba.
