Why in news
The President of India has accepted the resignation of Shri Dharmendra Pradhan from the Union Council of Ministers with immediate effect, on the advice of the Prime Minister. Additionally, Cabinet Minister Shri Prahlad Joshi has been given additional charge of the Ministry of Education.
Background
Article 75(2) of the Indian Constitution deals with the resignation and dismissal of ministers. The President acts on the advice of the Prime Minister in such matters.
