Malvani man drowns son after heated row with wife

Banti Rao, 40, was arrested for allegedly drowning his 10-year-old son in Gorai after a fight with his wife.

On July 28, Rao left with the boy after a heated argument and returned without him, claiming he had filed a missing persons complaint.

The boy's body was found on Gorai seashore on Wednesday at around 9 am, with no visible injuries; initially registered as accidental death.

Police identified the body after circulating a photograph to police stations across Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai, and a missing persons complaint led to the mother identifying the boy.

Rao confessed to drowning the boy and was booked for murder.
