'No sensitive data leaked': Government refutes reports of Kudankulam nuclear plant breach
Union Minister Jitendra Singh dismissed reports of sensitive data leak from Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP).
Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) clarified leaked documents relate only to the conventional Balance of Plant (BoP) package, not nuclear safety or security systems.
Ransomware group World Leaks claimed access to over 19,000 files, but NPCIL stated these are engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract documents for common service facilities.
The BoP contract was awarded to Reliance Infrastructure Limited in 2018 via public tender.
Kudankulam plant in Tamil Nadu has two operational units and two under construction, using Russian VVER reactors.
