On Puri’s Grand Road, a devotee’s submission

Shree Kshetra celebrates 13 festivals in 12 months, with Ratha Yatra being the most splendid.

Lord Jagannatha is worshipped with sister Subhadra and elder brother Balabhadra in the Puri temple.

Jagannatha has dark complexion and round eyes; Subhadra is yellow; Balabhadra is white.

The temple is called Bada Deula, the path is Bada Danda, and the sea is Mahodadhi.

The festival involves deities traveling on three chariots to Gundicha temple for nine days.
