Ahead of Mirzapur release, Ravi Kishan says censorship is necessary

Actor-politician Ravi Kishan stated that filmmakers must be responsible and avoid hurting communities or misrepresenting historical events.

Kishan said he would question the CBFC if his work received heavy censorship, asking 'What mistake did I make?'

He noted that censorship has a long history in India, citing the Emergency era in the 1970s as an example.

Kishan referenced the recent controversy around the film 'Satluj', which was released on OTT but removed after two days due to a certification issue.

His upcoming project 'Mirzapur – The Movie' has faced criticism for its use of expletives.
