Couple killed in Delhi after roof of house collapses, narrow escape for 10-year-old son

A couple, Tinku (32) and Urmila (30), died after their room's roof collapsed in Gali No. 2, JP Nagar, New Usmanpur, Delhi.

Urmila's 10-year-old son survived because he was in a neighbour's room at the time.

The building, owned by Virender Kumar, was built over 75 square metres and had four rooms occupied by different families.

Police registered a case under BNS sections 106 and 290 against owner Virender Kumar for negligence; he was arrested and released on bail.

The couple was rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra hospital, where they were declared brought dead.
