Four held for posing as Delhi Police, trying to extort ₹25 lakh in Gurugram

Four suspects, including a woman, were arrested in Gurugram for posing as Delhi Police Special Cell officials and attempting to extort ₹25 lakh.

The accused barged into an apartment in Sector 86, Ansal Heights Society, held four occupants hostage, and assaulted them using forged police identity cards.

The victim secretly shared his live location via WhatsApp, leading a friend to arrive with others and foil the plot.

Three forged Delhi Police identity cards were recovered; a fifth associate from Rohtak is absconding.

No money was extorted; the suspects were produced in court, with the woman in judicial custody and three in police custody for four days.
