KSSSCI: Docs shun U.P’s flagship cancer institute, just 15 of 91 posts filled

Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute (KSSSCI) in Uttar Pradesh has only 15 of 91 faculty posts filled after its 2024 recruitment drive.

super-specialty departments including medical oncology, nuclear medicine, and palliative care have no faculty.

The shortage is causing delays in surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy; patients are being referred to SGPGIMS, RMLIMS, and KGMU.

Over seven years, 29 doctors and about 70 other staff have resigned due to lower salaries and poorer service conditions compared to AIIMS and SGPGIMS.

KSSSCI plans to propose contractual recruitment to the state government to address the manpower shortage.
