‘I was on approved medical leave’: Gurgaon woman claims company fired her after accident

A 27-year-old Gurgaon woman was terminated via email while on approved medical leave after nearly severing her left index finger.

She underwent emergency surgery and was on strict bed rest for 2-3 weeks; her emergency contact emailed medical reports to the company.

The CGO approved the medical leave via email and wished her a speedy recovery.

After recovering faster than expected, she informed HR and management of her fitness to return on July 15, but received a termination letter instead of confirmation.

The company later alleged misconduct—such as 'refusing to learn the product' and 'resisting talking to real clients'—to avoid paying notice pay, which she denies.
