'Crazy, Stupid, Love' director reveals how Emma Stone stood out
in5points
Director Glenn Ficarra recalled that Emma Stone stood out during auditions for 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' because she was unfazed by Ryan Gosling's presence.
During a screen test, when Ryan Gosling fumbled a line, Emma Stone quipped, 'Oh, you're killing this. You're doing great,' impressing the filmmakers and securing the role of Hannah Weaver.
Ficarra and co-director John Requa auditioned multiple actresses with Ryan Gosling, but Stone's natural talent and quick wit led to her casting.
The film 'Crazy, Stupid, Love', released in 2011, also starred Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Joey King, and Jonah Bobo, and follows a middle-aged man navigating his marriage with help from a new friend.
