Andrew Arrabaca, 43, a US Army veteran, was taken into custody for setting off an incendiary device at 26 Federal Plaza in New York City.

The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating the incident as a possible act of terrorism.

Arrabaca allegedly poured a liquid at the building's entrance and ignited it with fireworks, causing fire and smoke.

FBI Director Kash Patel reported two minor injuries from the incident.

The suspect reportedly held a placard reading 'ICE Off Our Streets', but the motive has not been officially confirmed.
