Third Accused Arrested In ₹3-Crore Defence Project Cheating Case By Mumbai Crime Branch

Mumbai Crime Branch's Anti-Extortion Cell arrested third accused Vivek Kumar Gautam Singh (39) in a ₹3-crore cheating case linked to a Military Engineering Services (MES) defence project.
Singh, as Vice President (Contracts) of Asian Construction Company, allegedly signed a sub-contract agreement with Tutek Vision Industries on June 12, 2025, despite knowing the project was already awarded to Electrocool Engineering on May 30, 2025.
The accused induced Tutek Vision Industries to invest ₹2.97 crore by issuing a false Letter of Award on April 7, 2025, and a formal agreement, without obtaining mandatory military approvals for sub-contracting.
Police suspect security implications, as the sensitive defence project near Poisar Metro Station in Kandivali required direct contracting without sub-contractors.
Custodial interrogation of Singh is sought to trace the flow of money and determine if he received financial benefits for executing the fraudulent agreement.
