PhonePe reports Rs 2,792 crore loss in FY26

PhonePe's reported net loss of Rs 2,792 crore in FY26 includes non-cash ESOP expense of Rs 2,197 crore and goodwill impairment of Rs 231 crore, resulting in an adjusted loss of Rs 364 crore.

Operating revenue reached Rs 7,920 crore in FY26, driven by payment services including transaction processing fees from bill payments, digital gold, and travel bookings.

Employee benefits were the largest expense at Rs 4,386 crore, but only Rs 1,994 crore was paid as salaries; the remainder was ESOP expense.

PhonePe processed 10.48 billion UPI transactions in June, accounting for 46.15% of total UPI transaction volume and 49.07% of transaction value.

PhonePe paused its Rs 12,000 crore IPO plans due to geopolitical uncertainty and volatility in global financial markets.
