Mumbai: BMC Plans Acrylic Makeover For Dadar Kabutar Khana, Green Cover To Replace Tarpaulin

BMC plans to replace tarpaulin covering at Dadar Kabutar Khana with transparent acrylic sheets and add greenery beneath.

The pigeon feeding ban imposed by the state government remains in force; no feeding will be allowed.

Relocation of the kabutar khana is not feasible because the site includes a heritage structure.

The makeover aims to improve aesthetics without changing the function; tarpaulin was installed in August last year after the ban.

Local residents and corporator Yashwant Killedar support the plan, citing health hazards from pigeon droppings and appearance issues.
