Mojtaba Khamenei's whereabouts unknown amid Iran conflict

American and Israeli intelligence agencies launched a high-priority operation to locate Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, who has been out of public view for months.

Mojtaba Khamenei, 56, was appointed Supreme Leader on March 8 after the reported death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a US-Israeli strike on Tehran's leadership compound.

The secrecy surrounding his whereabouts, including underground bunkers and possible decoys, has become a major intelligence puzzle in the Iran conflict.
