H.C. Verma's 'Concepts of Physics' turns 32

H.C. Verma wrote Concepts of Physics after realizing that the American textbook Resnick and Halliday did not fully meet the needs of Indian students.

First published in 1992, the book became a trusted resource for JEE, NEET, and Olympiad aspirants.

Verma taught at IIT Kanpur and developed hundreds of low-cost physics experiments to support science education.

He received the Padma Shri in 2021 for his contributions to education.

The book filled a gap by providing explanations and examples better suited to Indian students' learning context.
