Immigration experts advise visa holders to avoid domestic air travel in the US due to an alarming rise in airport arrests, with incidents reported in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, New Jersey, Texas, and Virginia.

Individuals with expired visas who have pending applications for adjustment of status, extension, or asylum are at risk of detention, even if they have work authorization or advanced parole documents.

Immigration attorney Rajiv Khanna reported that some detained individuals have no criminal records and advises them to carry all documents and expect delays.

Business immigration attorney Lucy Magardichian recommends avoiding domestic air travel unless absolutely necessary, as ICE arrests have occurred even when a lawful extension or change of status is pending.

Immigration attorney Tsui H Yee notes that in the last two weeks, clients with pending immigration applications were detained on domestic flights, and states that if you are not in valid immigration status, you should avoid flying.
