  1. At Sri Krishna Degree College in Banashankari 3rd Stage, Bengaluru, three women police personnel (constables Lakshmi Kannanawadi, Girija, and home guard Vijaya) sang to and rocked an eight-month-old baby in a makeshift saree cradle during a police constable recruitment exam.

  2. The baby's mother, Sunitha, traveled from Shivamogga to take the exam; after her child woke up and cried, police sub-inspector Manoj Kumar tried to soothe him for 20 minutes before the women intervened.

  3. The women borrowed a saree from a nearby elderly woman, tied it into a cradle, and sang lullabies to calm the baby, who then fell asleep.

  4. Sunitha completed the exam and found her son asleep when she emerged at 12:15 pm; she thanked the officers for allowing her to finish.

  5. The incident was praised by senior police officers and the public after a video of it emerged.
