Kabaddi player, parents booked in dowry death case in Rohtak

  1. International kabaddi player Sheelu Balhara, alias Tinku, his parents, and younger brother were booked on dowry death charges after his wife Muskan, 23, was found dead.

  2. Muskan was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her in-laws' house in Bahu Akbarpur village, Rohtak, on Friday afternoon.

  3. The FIR was registered under Section 80 (dowry death) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint by Muskan's father, Sukhbir Singh.

  4. Sukhbir alleged his daughter had been harassed over dowry demands since her marriage about two-and-a-half years ago; she had returned to her parental home 10 days before her death.

  5. No arrests have been made so far; police interrogated Sheelu and recorded family statements, and an autopsy was conducted at PGIMS, Rohtak.
